Tanzanian Children Sing about HIV/AIDS

This footage is from a small village school in ...
This footage is from a small village school in Arusha, Tanzania. The clip illustrates how local people are raising awareness and addressing the crisis themselves.

In the video, 9-year-old orphan Glory Abraham leads her class in a song about the AIDS crisis in her country. To learn more about Glory, you can check out my blog at http://epicchange.org/blog/2007/12/02...

To me, this short video speaks volumes about AIDS awareness and activism among Tanzanian children and their hopes regarding the future of their country.

The school that these children attend was founded by a local Tanzanian woman in 2003 and is currently involved in a project with Epic Change, an organization I founded last year after performing volunteer work in their country. You can get involved at http://www.epicchange.org.

Such a strange combination of sadness, yet hope for this new generation due to the generosity of Mama Lucy to care enough to make sure these children learn the lesson of the generation before.

At 1,000,000 times the cost, we can only hope that US aid programs in Africa are even a fraction as effective as the grassroots work of one passionate Tanzanian woman who opened the school that educates these beautiful kids.
